“Official Trailer for 'Canary' Doc About the Explorer Lonnie Thompson”

"Science can only advance when you do things other people think can't be done." Oscope Labs has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film called Canary, a reference to the classic "canary in the coal mine" idiom and climate change. This will be opening in limited theaters starting in September if anyone wants to watch on the big screen. Daring to seek Earth's history contained in glaciers atop the tallest mountains in the world, Dr. Thompson's life's work evolves into a salvage mission to recover priceless historical records before they disappear forever. Witness the extraordinary life of Dr. Lonnie Thompson, an explorer who went where no scientist had gone before & transformed our idea of what is possible. Daring to study glaciers on mountains around the world, Lonnie found himself on the frontlines of climate change – his life's work now evolving into a salvage mission to save these priceless historical records before they disappear. I love hearing his message about "if you humans can create it [climate change], humans can solve it." Indeed! So let's make a difference and come together to solve this, with inspiration from Lonnie's optimism & tenacity.

Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Danny O'Malley & Alex Rivest's doc Canary, direct from YouTube:

"The fight for our future starts at 18,000 ft." Witness the extraordinary life of Dr. Lonnie Thompson, an explorer who went where no scientist had gone before – and transformed our idea of what is possible.
